The 49th annual Craft Fair returns to La Grange on Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16. Named one of the top craft fairs in America, it will feature the handmade work of over 175 craftspeople and artists from throughout the region including photographers, fashion designers, sculptors, potters, jewelers, welders and more.
Located along La Grange Road and on Harris Ave., the Craft Fair will take place 10 AM - 5 PM each day.
Visitors to the show can explore the latest trends in handmade goods and meet the craftspeople who make them, including jewelry and accessories made from reclaimed materials, macrame (textiles made from knotting techniques) or pour art, a trending painting technique that uses acrylic paint poured on a surface to create a flowing design.
Local artists displaying their wares include photographer Brian Horan with My Eye on the World of La Grange Park; photographer Karyn Denten of La Grange Park; painter Justin Miller of Brookfield; jewelry-maker Dorn Cheske of La Grange Park and fine artist Tomasz Klymuk of Bellwood.
Several La Grange shops and restaurants will entice customers with a Craft Fair VIP Customer Card offering special in-store offers and incentives throughout the weekend.
The arts and crafts industry continues to grow along with a resurgence of interest in creating handmade products. Studies have shown that crafting and other active hobbies can reduce stress and anxiety, increase happiness and improve cognitive function. This long-running show is a crowd favorite and strives to provide visitors with a unique, high-quality handcrafted experience.
The craft fair is organized by the La Grange Business Association (LGBA), promoted by Craft Productions Inc. and sponsored by Chiro One and Chicago Tent. It is held with the support of the Village of La Grange.
"This is a well-known show that highlights high-caliber artisans as well as attracts people to the front doors of our shops and restaurants," said Cathy Domanico, the CEO/Executive Director of the LGBA. "It’s a great way for visitors to discover all that La Grange has to offer."
