DESCRIPTION:RE: State of Illinois Paratransit Vehicle grant for Adults with Developmental Disabilities served by Helping Hand Center\, in Countryside\, Illinois.\n\n \n\nNotice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by Helping Hand Center:\n\nMay 25\, 2018 |  9:00am\n\nHelping Hand Center  |  2nd Floor Board Room\n\n9649 W. 55th Street\n\nCountryside\, Illinois\n\n \n\nI. For the purpose of considering a project for which financial assistance is being sought from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)\, pursuant to the Illinois Department of Transportation's general authority to make such Grants\, and which is generally described as follows:\n\na. Description of Project: Requesting IDOT provide two 14-passenger medium duty paratransit vehicles with  lifts ($63\,000 each). These vehicles will be used to transport adults with developmental disabilities on a daily basis\, five days per week\, from their homes\, to Helping Hand Center\, and to various community services and activities.\n\nb. Relocation: Relocation will not be required.\n\nc. Environment: This project is being implemented to minimize environmental impact.\n\nd. Comprehensive Planning: This project is in conformance with comprehensive transportation planning in the area.\n\ne. Elderly and Disabled: All new equipment included in this project will meet ADA accessibility rules for the elderly and persons with disabilities.\n\nII. At the hearing\, Helping Hand Center will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social\, economic\, and environmental aspects of the project. Interested persons may submit orally\, or in writing\, evidence and recommendations with respect to said project.\n\nIII.
